BURGER KING(R) RESTAURANTS RAISE $23,000 FOR LEUKEMIA SOCIETY

 SEATTLE, April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Seventy-six Burger-King(R) franchise restaurants in Western Washington have raise $23,000 for the Leukemia Society through the sale of coupons and Valentine cards.
 Burger King(R) restaurants located in Lewis, Pierce, Thurston, Grays Harbor, Clallam, Whatcom, King, Snohomish, Skagit, Kitsap and Mason counties participated in the fund raiser.
 "Burger King is a family-oriented restaurant chain which caters to children," said Franchise Sales and Services Manager Jeffery Wingate. "We were happy to do our part to help fight Leukemia -- a disease which so often affects children."
 Kathleen Brumwell, director, Leukemia Society, will accept the check at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 12 at the Burger King(R) restaurant at 5901 100th Street in Tacoma. Lee Fritz, president of the Western Washington Franchise Association, Jeffery Wingate and Burger King Kids Club character Kid Vid will represent Burger King.
