BURBANK WON'T COMPLAIN ABOUT WESTLAKE TRANSFER.

Byline: Gerry Gittelson Staff Writer

Burbank High's administration has dropped plans to file a complaint against Westlake's football program for recruiting violations following the recent transfer of sophomore Ty Duncan, a second-team All-Foothill League defensive lineman Lineman or linesman may refer to:
  • Lineman (occupation), one who installs and maintains electrical, telephone, and/or telegraph lines
  • Wichita Lineman
 last season.

In a faxed letter between the schools' principals, Burbank principal Bruce Bruce, Scottish royal family descended from an 11th-century Norman duke, Robert de Brus. He aided William I in his conquest of England (1066) and was given lands in England.  Osgood asserted he has completed an investigation of the allegations of undue influence and couldn't find ``substantive proof of wrong doing (sic Latin, In such manner; so; thus.

A misspelled or incorrect word in a quotation followed by "[sic]" indicates that the error appeared in the original source.
) on the part of Westlake High School Westlake High School may refer to:
  • Westlake High School - Westlake Village, California
  • Westlake High School - Atlanta, Georgia
  • Westlake High School - Westlake, Louisiana
  • Westlake High School - Westlake, Ohio
  • Westlake High School - Austin, Texas
.''

Osgood also wrote that the matter had nothing to do with Westlake coach Jim Benkert and that Burbank's administration is ``satisfied that this is a legal and valid transfer due to residency A duration of stay required by state and local laws that entitles a person to the legal protection and benefits provided by applicable statutes.

States have required state residency for a variety of rights, including the right to vote, the right to run for public office, the
change and (we) will not be filing with C.I.F.''

A spokeswoman at the Southern Section office confirmed no complaint has been filed.

Last Saturday, Burbank coach Greg Sobiech said: ``There's going to be some trouble. This is unacceptable.''

At the time, Burbank was on spring break, and Sobiech said he planned to meet with Osgood this week and file a written complaint to the Southern Section as soon as possible.

Sobiech did not return a phone call Friday seeking comment.
