BULLSEYE; Cheat who claimed disability benefit while playing for her pub darts team.


A BENEFIT cheat who claimed she was unable to walk was rumbled after winning her local darts league.

Thompson, of Second Avenue, in Stobhill, Morpeth claimed she was suffering from a spine disease which affected her legs, leaving her in constant pain and unable to walk without a stick..

 spokesman said: "Evidence became available that she was able to play darts and won a District Ladies Darts League, and had been playing since September, 2000."

Thompson pleaded guilty at Newcastle Crown Court and the case was adjourned for sentencing.
