In what was undoubtedly his final start at Blair Field Blair Field is a stadium in Long Beach, California. It originally opened in 1956 and is primarily used for baseball. It holds 3,238 people.

Located in Recreation Park, Blair Field is one of the few semi-professional baseball facilities in California.
, big Jered Weaver Jered David Weaver (born October 4, 1982 in Northridge, California), is a Major League Baseball starting pitcher with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Jered attended college at Long Beach State University where he was the 2004 College Baseball's Golden Spikes Award winner.
, the incomparable ace of Long Beach State's rock-solid pitching, went out with a flourish.

Too bad the bullpen didn't.

Weaver (Simi Valley Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  High) did his best to pitch the 49ers to the brink of the College World Series with a dominating performance, but the bullpen blew the lead and Long Beach State lost 6-5 to in front of an overflow crowd of 3,004 at Blair Field.

The All-American right-hander - who fanned only three Arizona batters during the 49ers' three-game sweep of the Wildcats in March - struck out 12 in 7 2/3 innings. The 49ers took a 1-0 lead in the second, when Davis' two-out single up the middle scored Vargas, who had opened the inning with an infield single.
