Volleyball: The Magic Volleyball Center will host a week-long, all-skills camp for girls Aug. 9-13.

Summer camps: Castaic Sports Complex offers summer sports camps from 9-11 a.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The fee is $10 per week.

The following camps are scheduled: volleyball (Aug. 10-12), badminton badminton (băd`mĭntən), game played by volleying a shuttlecock (called a "bird")—a small, cork hemisphere to which feathers are attached—over a net. Light, gut-strung rackets are used.  (Aug. 17-19) and flag football (Aug. 24-26).

Soccer camps: The Master's College History
The Master's College was founded as Los Angeles Baptist Theological Seminary on May 25, 1927 to meet the need for a fundamental Baptist school on the West Coast.
 will host soccer camps for all ages and ability levels.

All camps are for girls and boys ages 5-15 and will be directed by Jim Rickard, head coach of the Mustangs.

The camps will be held from August 9-12.

Baseball: San Val Little League is holding signups for winter baseball every Saturday from 9 a.m. 1 p.m. at San Val Little League field at 8045 Whitsett Avenue, North Hollywood.

Basketball: The Master's College hosts a summer basketball camp for boys and girls ages 7-16.

Mustangs basketball coach Bill Oates will direct the camp and be assisted by his coaching staff and players.

The camp will be held Aug. 2-5.

 County Park is offering numerous summer activities. Registrations are being accepted for weekly day camps for ages 6-12.

The cost for Monday through Friday half-day (10-noon) sessions is $15. The fee is $25 for the full-day (10 a.m.-4 p.m.) camp and includes a T-shirt.

Softball: The Parkview Senior All-Stars defeated Canyon Country 4-3 in the first round of the Section I tournament Saturday.

Tara Urbanski pitched a four- hitter.

On Monday, Parkview lost to Arcadia 8-1. Cassie Corless scored the lone run on a single by Hillary Degnan. Kim Harril was the losing pitcher.

On Tuesday, Parkview defeated Glendale 5-4 in the championship game of the loser's bracket. Jennifer Prodince had two singles.
