BULK SAMPLE TEST CONFIRM VIABILITY OF GRAVITY PROCESS FOR GOLDFIELDS PROJECT.KIRKLAND LAKE Kirkland Lake, mining town, E Ont., Canada. An important gold-mining center, gold was discovered there in 1911 and again in the 1980s at Harker. The mining of iron ore and tourism are two other important industries. , ONTARIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 25, 1995--GREATER LENORA (TSE See Tokyo Stock Exchange. TSE 1. Project in Northern Saskatchewan. The tests were conducted by Lakefield Research in Ontario, for the purpose of testing the suitability of pebble grinding, semi autogenous autogenous /au·tog·e·nous/ (aw-toj´e-nus) autologous. au·tog·e·nous or au·to·gen·ic adj. 1. Of or relating to autogenesis; self-generating. 2. grinding (SAG), and gravity concentration on the ores. All results have been extremely gratifying grat·i·fy tr.v. grat·i·fied, grat·i·fy·ing, grat·i·fies 1. To please or satisfy: His achievement gratified his father. See Synonyms at please. 2. to the Company. Preliminary analysis of the gravity results indicate that the performance of the recent laboratory scale tabling tests on the gravity concentration, has been confirmed in the SAG mill-spiral concentrator pilot plant. Both ores were found to be suitable for one stage SAG grinding which would produce a feed for the spiral concentrators with a projected recovery economically comparable to that obtainable with a plant incorporating a flotation and/or cyanide circuit. The SAG mill-spiral gravity concentration flowsheet, uses a significantly coarser grind than normally used for flotation or total ore cyanidation. The gravity concentrate fraction is projected to be 5 percent of the ore feed and contain 95 percent of the gold which would be suitable for gold recovery by a small cyanide circuit or shipped to a smelter. The confirmation of low cost grinding and the high degree of concentration is expected to significantly reduce the capital and operating costs operating costs npl → gastos mpl operacionales of the Project. It would not be unreasonable to expect that reduction in the order of 50 percent could be achieved and as a result, greatly improve the economic viability of the Project. The Goldfields Project is now comparable to capital and operating costs for a heap leach operation, except recoveries of gold are over 92 percent compared to 65-75 percent for heap leaching. H.A. "GEN" further announces that Senior Management has recently visited all the communities and Aboriginal Reserves in the area of the Goldfields Project and is pleased to report that all concerned gave unqualified support to the Goldfields Project. The Environmental Impact Study is in progress under the direction of Clifton Associates Ltd. of Regina, Saskatchewan and is expected to be completed by the fall of 1995.
