GLENDALE - A businessman who emigrated from India more than four decades ago and lives within a mile of Glendale Community College Glendale Community College can refer to one of two colleges in the United States.

The donation by Bhupesh Parikh will help fund the three-story Bhupesh Parikh Health Sciences and Technology Building, which will be built near the college's Advanced Technology Building and will give the college its first on-campus on-campus adjective Referring to an on-site site of a medical complex with multiple buildings. The total cost of the building is expected to be $23 million, funded primarily with bond money. Work began recently, and a 2007 opening date has been set.

The last $1 million donation the college received was in 1999, when Glendale restaurateurs and brothers Larry and Ralph Cimmarusti stepped forward to help fund the college's science center.
