Byline: Heather MacDonald Staff Writer

SANTA CLARITA Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  - Taxpayers will not have to foot the bill for the next two portions of Golden Valley Road.

The $6.6 million cost for the road from Soledad Canyon Soledad Canyon is a long narrow canyon / valley located in Los Angeles County, California between the cities of Palmdale and Santa Clarita. Soledad Canyon contains the localities of Vincent, Acton, Ravenna, and Agua Dulce.  Road to Via Princessa will be paid by the developer of the Santa Clarita Business Park, in a plan endorsed Tuesday by the City Council.

The road will provide a much-needed east-west route through the valley while easing traffic congestion The condition of a network when there is not enough bandwidth to support the current traffic load.

in Canyon Country, city officials said.

The City Council is expected to formalize its support of the changes to a development agreement with the Santa Clarita Business Park, and its developer, Larry Rasmussen, at a March 27 meeting.

A $5.1 million stretch of the road north of Via Princessa to Redview Drive will be built by the city with fees paid up front by Rasmussen's company. The city also spent $500,000 to acquire the necessary right of way from Rasmussen for the road.

The business park is 100 percent leased, Rasmussen said.

Rasmussen will build the next section of road from Redview Drive to a planned flyover interchange at Soledad Canyon Road, and the city will reimburse his company with $1.5 million in bridge and thoroughfare THOROUGHFARE. The business park will also contribute $2.25 million to build the flyover interchange at Soledad Canyon and Golden Valley roads and spend $750,000 for a parking lot and traffic signal at the nearby city Sports Complex The City Sports Complex, previously called as the KMC Sports Complex is located at Kashmir Road, in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan.

City Sports Complex provides sporting facilities such as swimming, tennis, squash, basketball, table tennis, taekwondo, skating, etc.
. In return for installing storm drains and sewers, the city will give Rasmussen an additional $1.5 million in road credits that he can sell or use at a later date.

Also at the March 27 meeting, the City Council will consider using 760,000 cubic yards of dirt left over from the first phase of the road construction in the later phases. That would change the layout of the business park and necessitate a redesign, Rasmussen said. The city will cover the costs of those changes, which are expected to total $2 million.
