BUICK LESABRE SALES UP 74 PERCENT IN NOVEMBER
FLINT, Mich., Dec. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Sales of Buick's LeSabre were

up 74 percent in November and the highest for any month in 13-1/2 years, General Sales and Service Manager Robert E. Coletta said today.
Overall, Buick sales were the highest for any November in six years. Sales were up 9 percent for the month, including 27 percent in the last 10 days of November, compared with the same periods last year.
Buick is one of the few automakers "that are up in a down year," Coletta said. For the calendar year through Nov. 30, Buick sales were up 1.3 percent compared with an estimated decline of 12 percent for the industry (including an estimated decline of 8 percent for imports).
Buick's estimated market share of 7.3 percent for November and 6.7 percent for the year were both the highest in five years. The division continues to lead the industry in improved market share (up nine-tenths of a point) for the calendar year.
The full-size LeSabre sedans are redesigned for the 1992 model year. Coletta said LeSabre's sales have been boosted by customer enthusiasm for the new styling and improved powertrain and also by 2.9-percent financing from GMAC. The special financing rate for up to 48 months was announced Oct. 26.
LeSabre sales in November totaled 17,296, compared with 9,951 the previous November. Overall, Buick sales totaled 18,923 for the last 10 days (compared with 14,878), up 27.2 percent; 45,022 for November (compared with 41,211), up 9.2 percent; and 505,966 for the year through November (compared with 499,714), up 1.3 percent.
