BUDGET RAILROAD.

LABOUR yesterday threatened to vote down the SNP's budget unless they revive the Glasgow Airport Rail Link The Glasgow Airport Rail Link (GARL) is a proposed rail link which will link Glasgow Central station to Glasgow International Airport. The link is due for completion in late 2009, with trains running on the route by Summer 2010 and will see 4 trains an hour operate between the two  (GARL GARL Group Action Request Lists ).

Scots Labour leader Iain Gray warned: "If the budget is not right for Scotland, then we will vote it down.

"Reinstating GARL and the housing budget cuts would be a start - but only a start."

Finance Secretary John Swinney dropped the pounds 200million GARL scheme - and 1300 jobs - last month. And pounds 170million has been lopped from housing.

MSPs are due to vote on the budget proposals next year.
