BTU International expects a record year, but lowers estimates for the short term.BILLERICA, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 15, 1995--BTU International, Inc. (NASDAQ NASDAQ in full National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations U.S. market for over-the-counter securities. Established in 1971 by the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), NASDAQ is an automated quotation system that reports on :BTUI) today announced that it expects to see a short-term impact, lowering its profit expectations for the fourth quarter of 1995 and for the first quarter of 1996 by approximately $0.08 and $0.10 per share respectively. A large order for nuclear fuel walking beam furnaces, which had been expected in November of 1995, was delayed by the customer and the Company does not now expect to book this order in the immediate future. "The delay of this large order comes at a time when some customers of the Company's Surface Mount Equipment Division have also stretched out the purchase and delivery of equipment into 1996," said Paul J. van der Wansem, President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. . "Although 1995 is expected to be a record year for the Company, the effect of these order delays will be a reduction in our planned revenue by approximately $1.5 million in the fourth quarter of 1995 and approximately $2 million in the first quarter of 1996, with a related impact on profitability. These delays appear to be temporary and we expect to see a healthy growth rate during 1996," continued Mr. van der Wansem. Mr. van der Wansem concluded, "Good progress is being made on the introduction of new products. One of them recently introduced is a new high temperature pusher pusher Drug slang 1. A person who sells drugs, especially the 'heavies'–eg, heroin 2. A metal hanger or umbrella rod used to scrape residue in crack stems type system, for which the Company has received several orders. In addition, the Company expects to extend its range of solder reflow (1) The process of heating and melting the solder that has been screen printed onto a printed circuit board in order to bond chips and other components to the board.
