BTG wins TVA computer contract.

: BTGI) announced that it has been awarded a $10 million one-year contract by the Tennessee Valley Authority Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), independent U.S. government corporate agency, created in 1933 by act of Congress; it is responsible for the integrated development of the Tennessee River basin.  (TVA TVA: see Tennessee Valley Authority. ).

). CAI was acquired by BTG in October 1995. The company won an Outstanding Supplier Award in 1995, the third consecutive year it was honored by the TVA for consistently outstanding performance. The citation said that in over four years, the company had processed thousands of orders on the TVA contract with only two errors.

BTG Senior Program Manager Sue Miller said the new award is a result of the company's excellent past performance for the Tennessee Valley Authority. "Our goal in working with the TVA," she said, "is to continuously improve the quality of service we provide. We are always seeking new technologies and processes that will help TVA reduce costs and maintain its competitive edge in the utility business." One example, she said, is the company's implementation and use of electronic data interchange See EDI.
