BTG Wins TVA Services Contract.

:BTGI) announced that it is one of three winners of a technical services contract with the Tennessee Valley Authority Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), independent U.S. government corporate agency, created in 1933 by act of Congress; it is responsible for the integrated development of the Tennessee River basin.  (TVA TVA: see Tennessee Valley Authority. ).

 and the other two contractors will compete for task orders issued by TVA for information technology services and staff augmentation support. These services include programming, systems analysis, network design and support, database administration, consulting, and computer operations.

BTG is also one of three firms recently awarded contracts by the TVA for the acquisition of desktop computers, hardware, software, and support services support services Psychology Non-health care-related ancillary services–eg, transportation, financial aid, support groups, homemaker services, respite services, and other services . BTG's award is a one-year, $10 million contract, which has the option of two additional years of equal or greater value. (See BTG-96-25, Oct. 4, 1996.)

BTG Vice President Chris Girolamo said the award announced today reflects the continuing expansion of BTG's services business. "TVA now joins the list of BTG technical services clients such as the Department of Education, Federal Aviation Administration Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), component of the U.S. Department of Transportation that sets standards for the air-worthiness of all civilian aircraft, inspects and licenses them, and regulates civilian and military air traffic through its air traffic control , National Institutes of Health, and the World Bank. We have a long and successful relationship with TVA and look forward to supporting it in this new program," Girolamo said.
