BTG Team Awarded Contract for Integrated Broadcast Service.

A team led by BTG, Inc. (Nasdaq: BTGI), an information systems and technical services company, was awarded a contract by the U.S. Air Force Electronic Systems Center for the first phase of the Department of Defense Integrated Broadcast Service (IBS).

The contract, with estimated revenue of $2 million over a six-month period, is for the program definition and risk reduction phase of IBS. Following completion of the first phase, the Air Force will select a contractor for the development phase, a seven-year effort valued at more than $60 million.

A program of the Joint Services, the Integrated Broadcast Service will provide military commanders and tactical users across the continuum of military operations with timely and accurate intelligence. IBS will integrate multiple sources of information into user-oriented products and make them available over multiple global communications paths. By focusing on the requirements of specific users, IBS will provide tailored information to support critical decision-making. BTG has been involved with the IBS through various working groups and integrated process teams.
