BTG Selects Verity Search Products for GSA Offering; Verity's topic Search and Retrieval products complement BTG's existing Netscape offerings.

VIENNA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 23, 1996--BTG, Inc. (Nasdaq: BTGI) has added sophisticated data search and retrieval technology from Verity, Inc. (Nasdaq:VRTY) to the Internet and Intranet solutions it offers to the federal market, the two companies announced today.

Verity's topic products, combined with Internet software from Netscape Communications Corporation and customized integration services from BTG, are available on BTG's GSA Schedules and other U.S. Government contracts.

BTG, one of the largest resellers to the U.S. Government, provides Netscape Navigator and Netscape server products to the federal government. Verity is a leading provider of software tools and applications for searching, retrieving and filtering information. The Netscape/Verity package offered by BTG gives users fast, easy access to data as well as the ability to create highly specific searches to quickly retrieve relevant information.

Verity's Advanced Search Features Enhance BTG's Netscape Offering

By combining Verity's topicINTERNET, topicSEARCH, and topicAGENT product lines with Netscape Internet servers, BTG can offer complete turn-key solutions for information profiling, search and retrieval across the client's organization and the Internet. These solutions can also offer the unique capability to view search highlights in PDF (Adobe's Portable Document Format) with the Netscape Navigator. These solutions will have an upgrade path to Netscape's next server, and are designed to be compatible with current and future Verity search tools which work together to create compatible information collections that help assure successful upgrades. As search needs evolve, an upgrade to Verity's Advance Search applications will be available from BTG.
