BT launches online Inclusive Design Toolkit.

A new online Inclusive Design Toolkit has been launched by communications solutions and services provider BT, developed to support designers and those working in product development and to provide a general inclusive design guide for businesses.

BT commissioned the website, which can be found at http://www.inclusivedesigntoolkit.com and was developed by Sagentia, a member of the CITD CITD Centers for International Trade Development  (Centre for Inclusive Technology and Design), in conjunction with iDesign.

 BT, the site, which took three years to complete and is intended to create a more socially inclusive society, offers a guide to the principles and commercial implications of inclusive design.

The online Inclusive Design Toolkit was commissioned as part of BT's Corporate Social Responsibility Programme and is intended for the 10m disabled people in the UK, helping them to benefit from new communication technologies.

BT has launched a competition for designs based on the elements taught in the toolkit, and is also giving an inclusively designed prize to one of the users logging onto the site before 31 August 2007.
