BSQUARE Corporation (Nasdaq:BSQR) and Casio, Inc., today announced a strategic partnership designed to help independent software vendors (ISVs) develop applications for the new Casio CASSIOPEIA Casio Cassiopeia was the brand name of a PDA manufactured by Casio. It used Windows CE as the Operating system. Casio was one of the first manufacturers of PDAs, developing at the beginning small pocket-sized computers with keyboards and grayscale displays and subsequently moving  BE-300 platform.

BSQUARE will manage Casio's software developer program, providing ISVs with a wide range of software products, tools, and services, including technical support and a free Software Development Kit (SDK (Software Developer's Kit) See developer's toolkit and Windows SDK.

The Casio software developer program will enable ISVs to bring a host of compelling applications to market quickly, generating excitement for the CASSIOPEIA BE-300 with business professionals and other target customer segments. Priced under $300 and powered by Microsoft(R) Windows(R) CE 3.0, the CASSIOPEIA BE-300 is an affordable, full-color handheld device. CASSIOPEIA BE-300 has built-in capabilities for playing music and games without additional hardware. Casio anticipates worldwide shipments may reach 1,000,000 within a year.

Software Developer Program for Casio CASSIOPEIA BE-300

The software developer program will start with a SDK (Software Development Kit) that BSQUARE specifically enhanced for the CASSIOPEIA BE-300 platform. This SDK enables developers to use Microsoft' eMbedded Visual C++ to create powerful applications for the BE - 300 series platform.
