BSQUARE will offer both introductory and advanced classes enabling industry professionals to choose the right curriculum for their specific needs.

Microsoft Corp. selected BSQUARE to create the authorized Microsoft Windows CE .NET training classes. This multi-track curriculum was designed exclusively for project managers, platform porting engineers, and system/application engineers. The courses provide students with the knowledge they need to build high-quality embedded solutions and get them to market quickly. Leading experts teach the interactive courses at BSQUARE headquarters in Bellevue, Wash. The same courses will also be offered internationally and at customer sites.

"Rather than take a one-size-fits-all approach, we specifically designed a modular training curriculum that meets virtually everyone's needs, whether they need to evaluate Windows CE .NET for the first time, they need to build a new Windows CE .NET platform, or they need to bring a specific service up on an existing Windows CE .NET platform," said Scott Bufkin, vice president of professional services (job) professional services - A department of a supplier providing consultancy and programming manpower for the supplier's products.  of BSQUARE. "The fact that Microsoft picked BSQUARE to develop these courses is a real tribute to the excellence of our dedicated training department."

"As OEMs begin to develop their next-generation devices on Windows CE .NET, we wanted to offer them a comprehensive training curriculum to enable them to get up to speed quickly," said Keith White, senior marketing director of the embedded and appliance platforms group at Microsoft. "BSQUARE's years of experience with Windows CE, along with its proven ability to offer in-depth education, made it a natural choice to deliver these training materials."

Windows CE .NET Training Curriculum

The new training curriculum consists of three courses: a single one-day introduction to Windows CE .NET and two advanced four-day classes. These classes are designed to fit into two different five-day tracks. The first track is for "Platform Porting," with engineers bringing up a new hardware platform and creating a Board Support Package (BSP BSP

) on Windows CE. NET. The second track is for systems engineers implementing custom services and applications on an existing hardware platform and BSP.

Project managers and decision-making executives who simply need to learn the basics about Windows CE .NET can take only the one-day introductory class. They can use this course to evaluate whether the Windows CE .NET operating system is the right technology for a particular project. All classes use both lectures and hands-on labs to ensure that students grasp key concepts.

Introduction to Windows CE .NET (MSDN (MicroSoft Developer Network) A subscription service from Microsoft for software developers. It includes technical documentation and news, patches and fixes for existing products and beta copies of upcoming releases.  2530) is an introductory survey course on Windows CE .NET. Developing a Board Support Package (BSP) for Windows CE .NET (MSDN 2535) is an advanced four-day course in Windows CE .NET platform porting. Students in this class are expected to have knowledge of C programming and embedded systems. This course covers all the components necessary to bring up a new platform and develop a Board Support Package on Windows CE .NET. Students will learn to write bootloaders, the OAL OAL Office of Administrative Law

Building Custom Solutions Using Windows CE .NET (MSDN 2540) is an advanced four-day course in Windows CE .NET system development. Students in this class are expected to have knowledge of C or C++ programming. This course is designed to aid companies that have purchased or developed their hardware and BSP, and are focused on implementing the proper features on their platforms. These features may consist of networking components, real-time communications, multimedia capabilities, shell customizations, and target application development.
