BSI, Inc Awards Boeing Aircraft Modification Center ISO-9000 Certification.

RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 23, 1999--BSI, Inc., the North American division of BSI, the world's leading registrar of quality management systems, today announced that it has awarded the Boeing Company its ISO 9000 certification for its commercial airplane modification program in Wichita, Kan.

The Wichita Modification Center, operating under the direction of Boeing Airplane Services, specializes in wide-bodied aircraft modifications, maintenance and structural enhancements. Since 1972, the Wichita Modification Center has modified 88 Boeing 747 airplanes to freighter/cargo configuration, and also converted a 747 into the NASA shuttle carrier aircraft.

The Wichita Modification Center became part of Boeing Airplane Services last June, when the new business was established.
