BSD Medical Corporation Sells Hyperthermia System to University of California, San Francisco Medical Center.

SALT LAKE CITY -- BSD Medical Corporation (NASDAQ: BSDM) (www.BSDMedical.com) announced today that the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center (UCSF) has acquired a BSD-500 Hyperthermia System (BSD-500). UCSF is a world leader in hyperthermia and has the largest and most versatile hyperthermia program on the West Coast, and its world-renowned Radiation Oncology team has added the capabilities of the BSD-500 to its growing hyperthermia cancer treatment program.

The BSD-500 Hyperthermia System is approved by the Food and Drug Administration to deliver therapeutic heat (hyperthermia) alone or in conjunction with radiotherapy to treat certain malignant tumors by the use of either external or interstitial application of energy. The BSD-500 has been used extensively to treat patients with recurrent breast cancer. Previous studies have demonstrated that hyperthermia in conjunction with radiation significantly improved local tumor control in recurrent breast cancer patients and may improve survival in some patients.
