BRUSH FIRE ALERT CALLED FOR SANTA CLARITA REGION.Byline: Daily News SANTA CLARITA Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country, - The National Weather Service declared a red-flag warning Wednesday for today and Friday, the third brush-fire danger alert this week. The warning, called because of high winds and extremely low humidity humidity, moisture content of the atmosphere, a primary element of climate. Humidity measurements include absolute humidity, the mass of water vapor per unit volume of natural air; relative humidity (usually meant when the term humidity , took effect at 4 a.m. today and runs through 6 p.m. Friday. Continued dry weather has prompted concern for the high potential of a brush fire in Santa Clarita. Similar conditions had existed in October when a fire that started in Val Verde Val Verde may mean:
Winds, a factor in assessing fire danger, will not be quite as strong as the 30- to 40-mph sustained winds earlier this week. Gusts will top out at 25 mph today but increase to 30 mph overnight.
