BRUINS GET COMMITMENTS FROM QUARTERBACK, CENTER.Byline: - Brian Dohn UCLA scrambled to recruit a quarterback in its last class, but that isn't the case for 2005. On Tuesday, the Bruins received an oral commitment from Pomona Garey High junior quarterback Osaar Rashan. It was the second non-binding commitment of the day, and came just hours after highly rated center Jesse White of Mullen High in Denver committed to the Bruins. ``Right now with the quarterback position there, it made it a little easier to commit,'' said the 6-foot-4, 215-pound Rashan. Meanwhile, the Bruins lost potential depth on its defensive line when it was announced freshman Thomas Patton left school because of academic reasons. Patton has enrolled at an Oakland-area junior college junior college: see community college. and plans to re-apply for admission to UCLA this summer. |
