BRUINS ELIMINATED AS ATTACK STRUGGLES TO CREATE SHOTS ST. JOHN'S 2, UCLA 1.

By the time UCLA's attack started to resemble the one that had scored 10 goals in its previous three games, the Bruins' deficit was too big to overcome.

The offensive surge didn't surprise the Red Storm.

``That's what happens,'' said St. John's coach Dave Masur, whose team reached the NCAA final last season. ``You push forward.

Two-nothing is a very dangerous score, the game's far from over. ... We're happy to get out of here with a win.''
