So, this adds up to No. 1 in the Bowl Championship Series formula?

It certainly won't in the coaches' or writers' polls, where the Bruins - considering Kansas State and Tennessee each won by at least 35 points - may be lucky to hold on to No. 2.

The Bruins (7-0, 5-0 Pac-10) caught a break in the BCS' strength of schedule component when Texas upset Nebraska, but it certainly won't help when the computer ratings crunch how Stanford (1-7, 0-4) played UCLA tougher than it did San Jose San Jose, city, United States
