The following cases were heard at Cardiff Magistrates' Court: Nikki John Griffiths John Griffiths (born 1956) is a Labour and Co-operative politician and Member of the National Assembly for Wales for Newport East since 1999. Education
Studied law as a mature student at the University of Wales.
, 25, of Pennsylvania, Llanedeyrn, Cardiff, was fined pounds 50 for using threatening or abusive behaviour in Cardiff on Tuesday, December 18. Griffiths pleaded guilty to the offence and was ordered to pay pounds 75 costs and a pounds 15 victims surcharge.

David Anthony David Lamar Anthony (born 1948), better known as David Anthony, is a convicted murderer who allegedly killed his wife and her two children. The Anthony murder case and subsequent trial received much media attention in the United States, particularly in Arizona.  Jones, 24, of Hillside Terrace, Wattstown, Rhondda, was fined pounds 50 for using threatening behaviour in Cardiff on Friday, December 21. He pleaded guilty to the offence and was made to pay pounds 75 costs.

Michael Royston Balmont, 19, of no fixed abode One's home; habitation; place of dwelling; or residence. Ordinarily means "domicile." Living place impermanent in character. The place where a person dwells. Residence of a legal voter. Fixed place of residence for the time being. , was jailed for 28 days for causing criminal damage to another person's property. Balmont pleaded guilty to the offence, committed in Cardiff on Tuesday, May 1. No order for compensation was made.

Wayne Alvin Shepperd, of Ashburton Avenue, Llanrumney, Cardiff, was fined pounds 100 for using threatening or insulting behaviour in Cardiff on Sunday, August 5, 2007. Shepperd pleaded not guilty to the offence, but was convicted after trial and made to pay pounds 50 costs and a pounds 15 victims surcharge.

David Kenneth Collins, 37, of Malmsmead Road, Llanrumney, Cardiff, was jailed for three months for driving an off-road motorcycle in Paracombe Crescent, Cardiff, while banned and over the drink drive limit on February 3, 2006. Collins pleaded guilty to the offences.

Nasser Ali, 28, of Neville Street, Riverside, Cardiff Riverside (Welsh: Glanyrafon) is an inner-city area of Cardiff, Wales. The ward can be split into two parts; Riverside-proper, south of Cowbridge Road East, which consists of mostly small terraced houses and is a focus for the city's Bangladeshi and Chinese population, , was fined pounds 250 and banned for two months for driving without a valid MoT certificate. Ali was caught driving in Clare Road, Riverside, on December 10, 2006, and was made to pay pounds 40 costs after the case against him was proved in a trial.

Wayne Lee Haskins, 18, of Metal Street, Adamsdown, Cardiff, was jailed for four months for dishonestly receiving a Thumpster motorcycle worth pounds 900. Haskins pleaded guilty to the offence, which he committed on Tuesday, January 1, 2008.

Melanie Hawthorne, 31, of Sanquhar Street, Splott, Cardiff, was fined pounds 50 and given three penalty points for failing to stop at a pelican crossing pelican crossing

Cameron Ian Hayes, 32, of Broad Street, Leckwith, Cardiff, was banned for two months and fined pounds 150 after being caught driving without a valid licence or insurance. Hayes was found guilty of the Sunday, June 15, offence by the court and ordered to pay pounds 40 costs.
