Former Camarillo High tennis twins and current Stanford stars Bob and Mike Bryan Twin brothers Robert Charles Bryan (Bob) and Michael Carl Bryan (Mike) are American professional tennis players. Between 2005 and 2006, they reached an Open Era record of seven consecutive Grand Slam finals.  survived the first day of the rain-delayed National Collegiate Tennis Classic at Sherwood Country Club on Saturday, advancing into today's quarterfinals.

Stanford coach Dick Gould said Mike Bryan can have a tremendous 1998 season if he stays healthy. Mike was plagued by injury last year, suffering tendinitis of the knee, then the wrist.

In women's singles play, top-seeded Teryn Ashley of Stanford reached the quarterfinals with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Arizona State's Kary Propstra after drawing a first-round bye.

The tournament was scheduled to start Friday but was postponed because of rain.
