BROTHER AND SISTER JOIN UP AT DOUBLE.


IT'S going to be a military life for Roxanne France-Barton, 18, and her younger brother Lyndon from now on In what was a pretty unusual experience for staff at the Wrexham Forces Careers Office when both enlisted for the Army on the same day - a kind of double take.

``It was very much a family occasion,'' said a spokesman.

Roxanne from Wrexham, like her brother a former pupil of Ysgol Morgan Llwyd Ysgol Morgan Llwyd is a Welsh Medium school in Wrexham, North Wales. It is the first, and only Welsh Language Secondary school in Wrexham County Borough. It is named after the renowned seventeenth century Welsh author Morgan Llwyd. , will be joining the Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps (QARANC; commonly known as the QAs) is the nursing branch of the British Army and part of the Army Medical Services.  as a health care assistant after her basic training in Winchester.

Lyndon, 17, has ``signed up'' for the Royal Welch Fusiliers The Royal Welch Fusiliers were a regiment of the British Army, part of the Prince of Wales' Division. It was founded in 1689 to oppose James II and the imminent war with France.  and will be heading off for the Army Training Regiment in Lichfield.

He said: ``I have always wanted to join the Army and when I visited the careers office they advised me to take part in a preparation course to help me get a taste for the army way of life.''

Roxanne added: ``When I saw how much he enjoyed the course I knew that an army career would be perfect for me as well.''
