A GRIEVING son has t o l d how he h a s forgiven the brother who stabbed their parents to death.

Scots expat Sheila Perez-Peterkin and her Spanish husband were murd e re d by t h e i r mentally ill son in Madrid.

Police found the pair's blood-soaked bodies after neighbours heard shouting and raised the alarm.

Officers discovered their schizophrenic son Andres, 47, sitting on a sofa after slitting his own throat.

Despite the tragedy, Miguel Perez, 46, said: "Schizophre n i a has caused my darling brother to commit an act that has filled his conscience with pain, remorse and guilt.

"That provokes in me a sad regret but also means I give my forgiveness without conditions."

Mum-of-five Sheila, 77, originally from Portsoy, Aberdeenshire, was found dead in her bedroom last Saturday night.

The corpse of husband Jorge Perez, 83, was in a hallway.

Andres - who had been a drug abuser - told police he killed his parents while he was being taken to a mental hospital.
