 shooting his older brother was sentenced Tuesday to 18 years to life in prison after he pleaded no contest to second-degree murder.

Kenneth Leroy Marshall was charged with murder in the May 13 slaying of 53-year-old Robert Marshall The following people have the name Robert Marshall:

Marshall was found mentally competent to stand trial after he was evaluated by two psychiatrists This list includes notable psychiatrists.

, officials said.

``It's a real tragedy,'' Deputy District Attorney Richard Naranjo said.

Naranjo said Marshall was sentenced to 15 years to life for second-degree murder plus a three-year enhancement for use of a gun. He must serve the three years first, and then do 85 percent of the 15-years-to-life sentence before he can become eligible for parole parole (pərōl`), in criminal law, release from prison of a convict before the expiration of his term on condition that his activities be restricted and that he report regularly to an officer. , Naranjo said.

Marshall had told investigators he intended to scare and not kill his brother when he shot him with a .30-06 rifle in the home the two men shared with their sister, officials said.
