BROKER CALLS IGNITE ROSE BOWL PROBE.

The Tournament of Roses Association has launched an internal investigation into a ticket broker who is offering cash to members for their Rose Bowl tickets.

The tickets are sold to tournament members for their face value of $75, but they are now fetching fetch·ing

 from $350 to $650 each on the retail market, commercial ticket brokers said.

Members are forbidden from selling their tickets for more than face value, said Jack French, the Tournament of Roses' chief executive officer. The tournament gets about 25,000 tickets for members.

Other brokers said they often buy Rose Bowl tickets from tournament members.

``It's an ongoing practice,'' said one, who requested anonymity. ``And they make no secret who they are.''

Tournament officials have opened an internal investigation, said tournament president Gary Dorn.

``It is rather upsetting when we get bookmakers at our front door,'' he said.
