BROKAT Retail and Business Banking Products Make Strong Entry Into U.S. Market; Charter One is the First to License Brokat's Retail and Business Banking Services.

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 19, 2000

BROKAT, one of the world's leading providers of software for e-banking and e-business solutions, announced today it has licensed its browser-based retail and business banking products to $32 billion bank holding company, Charter One Financial. Cleveland-based Charter One, one of the top 30 bank holding companies in the U. S., has selected BROKAT's award-winning platform Twister(TM), to provide their customers with state-of-the-art web-based banking services. As part of the license agreement Charter One has also opted to utilize BROKAT's service bureau offering. BROKAT's cutting-edge technology will support Charter One's strategy to continually seek and add innovative, new dimensions to its products and services portfolio.

Charter One is implementing BROKAT's full web banking application suites for consumer and small business. These applications will include both informational and transactional functionality such as bill payment/presentation and transfers. The user-friendly, secure system is designed to offer anytime, anywhere access and is expected to increase their already strong customer base.
