The American Theater
 and Producers has a special telephone line for information on Broadway and selected off-Broadway shows and how to purchase tickets. Calls must be made on a touch-tone phone. The number is (212) 563-2929.

In addition, for 24-hour information on theater, dance and music performances, call the Theater Development Fund's New York City on Stage, (212) 768-1818.

When calling theaters directly, use New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
 area code 212. Advance inquiries should be made, as ticket availability is subject to change.

Credit-card holders can order tickets by phone or by calling Telecharge or Ticketmaster.

Telecharge's number is (212) 239-6200 unless otherwise indicated. There is a $5 service charge per ticket for Telecharge orders. Ticketmaster is (212) 307-4100. There is a $5.75 service charge per ticket for Ticketmaster orders plus a $2.50 handling fee per order. Both services will provide information on specific seat locations.

Telecharge and Ticketmaster also have toll-free numbers for use by theatergoers calling from outside New York, New Jersey and Connecticut Connecticut, state, United States
