BROADSTREET BATTLE THROUGH; JUNIOR RUGBY ROUND-UP.


BROADSTREET reached the fourth round of the EDF Energy EDF Energy is the trading name of EDF Energy Customers plc, an energy company that provides gas and electricity to homes throughout the United Kingdom. Broadstreet managed to reply before half-time through flanker Nigel Mukarati, who crashed over following a lineout, and a Dan Richards penalty.

The wet and windy conditions took their toll in a tight second half during which both teams struggled to gain territorial advantage. The result hinged on penalty attempts - Richards was successful but Rasch missed from 30 yards with the last kick of the game.

Malvern were kicked out of the EDF Energy Intermediate Cup by the boot of Luton fly-half Darren Howells, who scored 20 of his team's 25 points.

Howells kicked six penalties and converted Jason Habender's try as Luton beat a weakened Malvern side 25-15 in their third-round tie.

DKs skipper Ben Connett opened the scoring in the first minute with a try.

The visitors scored six tries - Jak Davis, Dave Westwood and Stefan Thorp crossing in the first half for a 26-point lead. Stefan Shillingford and Jordan Brookes touched down for second-half tries while scrum-half Robbie Harlow added four conversions.
