TUCSON, Ariz. -- Scientists and engineers in India are advancing the global reach of Breault Research Organization (BRO), with use of BRO's Advanced Systems Analysis Program (ASAP(R)) in frontier applications, such as those in General Electric's (GE) Ecomagination(SM) initiative, according to end users there.

Research scientists use ASAP at the John F. Welch Technology Centre (JFWTC), in Bangalore, India, which is GE's first and largest integrated, multidisciplinary research and development center outside the United States.

JFWTC, an $80 million USD state-of-the-art facility, is GE's hub for technology, research and innovation. More than 2,200 scientists, researchers and engineers work in virtual teams with counterparts worldwide. Tools like BRO's ASAP Optical Software support technical staff in making leaps in innovation and next-generation product development.

At JFWTC, scientists and engineers are engaged in providing fundamental molecular-level understandings of various material properties and translating their findings into device applications. They find, "ASAP is very good in terms of allowing high flexibility for simulating optical ray passage through complex geometries," and that ASAP "is very powerful in terms of providing all the relevant data analysis." Moreover, JFWTC scientists and engineers consider the program part of a toolkit for new applications in science and engineering.
