Maria Pedemonte, MD, Will Lead Oncology Effort

Bio-Reference Laboratories, Inc (Nasdaq Small Cap-"BRLI BRLI Bio Rad Laboratories Inc "), has named Bader Maria Pedemonte-Coira, MD, to be Medical Director of Bio-Reference Laboratories and to oversee GenPath, the Company's Cancer Laboratory.

Dr. Pedemonte previously worked at Bio-Reference from 1996 to 1997 as Director of Immunohistochemistry. Her return as Medical Director signals a change in direction for Laboratory to emphasize specialized testing including oncology, immunology and genomic studies. As a pathologist who is Board Certified board certified,

Dr. Pedemonte has previously worked at Impath, Inc and Quest Diagnostics Quest Diagnostics Incorporated (NYSE: DGX) is a United States corporation which provides clinical laboratory services . The company also has a business presence in England and Mexico.

 (formerly Metpath Laboratories). In her previous stint at Bio-Reference, Dr. Pedemonte was Director for the GenCare division of Bio-Reference Laboratories where she oversaw the substantial growth of the laboratory's oncology business. In 1997, Bio-Reference sold that oncology business and Dr. Pedemonte followed the business unit to Impath.
