despite a seven per cent fall in energy consumption.
The group said they were performing in line with market forecasts,
which include operating profits of pounds 1.86billion for Centrica and
pounds 541million for British Gas, up from pounds 379million the
previous year.
British Gas have cut customer bills by 10 per cent this year as
costs plunged.
But there are fears that prices will rise again next year.
