BRITISH AIRWAYS' CLUB WORLD SEATS BUILT FOR SLUMBER.

Byline: - Eric Noland

A 10-hour flight compounded by an eight-hour time difference can play havoc with the constitution of a traveler who jets from Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  to London. It can take a couple of days - not to mention bouts of heavy eyelids eyelids,

provides a partial solution to this rough transition: a Club World business-class seat that reclines into a fully flat sleeping surface.

That's right, flat. Like your mattress at home. So if you can force yourself to call it a night soon after departing Los Angeles on an early evening flight, you have a better chance of stretching out for an extended period of sleep, which can hasten your body's adjustment to London time.

A business-class ticket represents quite a splurge, of course, although many passengers swing upgrades from coach by using frequent-flier miles. American, Alaska and America West airlines America West Airlines was one of the United States' ten major airlines. The airline was based in Tempe, Arizona, and is now a part of US Airways Group.

At the time of its integration into US Airways, the airline maintained two hubs, one at Phoenix Sky Harbor International

gradually flattens out. Flip up a footrest on the back of the pod in front of you, and you have a glorious 6 feet of space in which to stretch out. Because of the pod design, you don't have to worry about the person in front of you crashing his seatback into your lap.

Also, because not everyone travels with a companion, the seats are staggered so that the person sitting in a window seat will face toward the back of the plane and the person sitting alongside in the aisle seat aisle seat aisle nplace f côté couloir

will face the front. Even at that, a privacy screen can be unfurled between the two seats.

Sitting alongside your mate in seats that face in opposite directions takes a little getting used to, but it's good for conversation. In the center section of the cabin's 2-4-2 seating configuration, the staggered pattern is continued, although the middle two seats - E and F - face in the same direction to accommodate couples. ``We call that the honeymoon suite Honeymoon Suite are a Canadian rock band, based out of Niagara Falls, Ontario that formed in 1982. The band's name was a nod to the fact that Niagara Falls is the unofficial honeymoon capital. (Movies, such as Superman II, have affectionately supported this claim. ,'' joked airline publicist Diana Fung.
