BRITE VOICE SYSTEMS AND PERCEPTION TECHNOLOGY MERGER COMPLETED

 WICHITA, Kan., Aug. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Brite Voice Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: BVSI) and Perception Technology Corp. (NASDAQ-NMS: PCEP) announced today that the stockholders of each company have approved the merger of Perception Technology with and into Brite Voice Systems. Under the terms of the merger, each Perception Technology shareholder will receive one newly issued share of Brite for each share of Perception stock held.
 The transaction was effective as of the close of business on Friday, July 30, and Perception stock ceased trading on the NASDAQ National Market System at that time.
 Stan Brannan, president and chief executive officer of Brite, stated, "We are very pleased to have the merger completed and behind us. We can now start the integration process and begin achieving some of the cost savings and synergies we believe are possible as a result of the combination of the companies."
 Perception Technology designs, manufactures, markets and supports a family of interactive voice processing and audiotex systems and solutions that provide users with direct access to central computer databases through touchtone telephones.
 Brite Voice Systems is a leading provider of multiple application voice processing systems. These systems offer audiotex, interactive voice response, voice recognition and interactive facsimile to newspapers, telephone companies, long distance carriers and service bureaus. Brite also provides managed services to the media industry and information services to a variety of industries.
