BRITAIN: Ten face shooting quiz.

AS many as 10 police officers could potentially face criminal charges over the fatal shooting of the innocent Brazilian electrician Jean Charles de Menezes Jean Charles de Menezes (7 January 1978–22 July 2005) was a Brazilian national living in the Tulse Hill area of south London. De Menezes was shot dead at Stockwell tube station on the London Underground by unnamed Metropolitan Police officers. , it emerged last night.

Material relating to all of the officers interviewed under caution during the police watchdog's inquiry into his death was submitted, along with its report, to the Crown Prosecution Service
The Crown Prosecution Service, or CPS, is a non-ministerial department of the Government of the United Kingdom responsible for public prosecutions of people charged with criminal offences in England and Wales.
 (CPS) yesterday.

At a press conference last night, representatives of the de Menezes family complained they were being kept "in the dark" about his shooting after being refused permission to see the full report.

They said this was "unacceptable" and accused the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC See IMS Forum. ) of having failed them.

For the IPCC to have sent material to the CPS on all of the officers interviewed by its investigators under caution means it has concluded that in each case criminal offences may have been committed.

It will now be up to the CPS to decide whether there is sufficient evidence to actually bring charges against any of those officers - a much higher threshold.

The IPCC has refused to say exactly how many officers were interviewed under caution and they have not been identified. The long-awaited report into the 27-year-old's shooting follows a six-month inquiry.
