BRITAIN: Man is sought over dead mother.


A MAN was being sought by police yesterday over the murder of his mother.

Lorna Whittingham, 51, was found dead at her house in Crewe, Cheshire, at 12.45pm.

A post-mortem examination revealed she died as a result of asphyxiation asphyxiation /as·phyx·i·a·tion/ (as-fix?e-a´shun) suffocation; the stoppage of respiration.

Officers from Cheshire Constabulary Cheshire Constabulary is the Home Office police force responsible for policing the English non-metropolitan county of Cheshire and the unitary authorities of Halton (including Runcorn, and Widnes) and Warrington.  are keen to trace Mrs Whittingham's 22-year-old son, John Whittingham, who was last seen yesterday afternoon.

A spokeswoman for the force said members of the public should not approach Mr Whittingham, who may be driving a silver Vauxhall Corsa, registration number KC52 VMP VMP Vampire

She also appealed for Mr Whittingham to contact police himself.

Mrs Whittingham's body was discovered by her husband at their home on Crestwood Close, Crewe.
