BRIT'S RING FOUND IN KILLER CROC; Police analyse human remains.

THE wedding ring of missing Brit Arthur Booker has been found inside a crocodile.

X-rays showed the "circular metal object" in the stomach of the 13ft beast suspected of killing him.

Human remains were also found inside the bull croc, which weighs half a ton.

Australian police said yesterday: "The material is still being analysed."

More tests are being done after human remains were discovered in a smaller female crocodile.

Search teams found crocodile tracks and slide marks. Mr Booker's watch, footwear and video camera were lying nearby. Rangers began hunting for likely crocodiles and trapped three reptiles.

They were taken to Cairns Cairns, city (1991 pop. 64,463), Queensland, NE Australia, on Trinity Bay. It is a principal sugar port of Australia; lumber and other agricultural products are also exported. The city's proximity to the Great Barrier Reef has made it a tourist center.  for X-rays. It is believed two were involved in Mr Booker's death - but authorities have issued only guarded statements for the sake of his traumatised family.

Rangers were, however, told to stop their hunt and the third crocodile, a female which was not involved, was returned to the river.

The remaining two will not be put down as they are protected under Australian law. Instead they will be sent to a reptile farm.

Mr Booker has lived in Brisbane since childhood.
