BRISTOL-MYERS SQUIBB NAMES EGAN SENIOR VP-HEALTH CARE POLICY AND NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

 NEW YORK, March 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Bristol-Myers Squibb Company (NYSE: BMY) today announced that Raymond C. Egan has been appointed senior vice president, health care policy and new business development. In this capacity, he will be located at corporate headquarters in New York and will report to Charles A. Heimbold Jr., company president.
 Mr. Egan, formerly executive vice president of the Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceutical and Nutritional Group, will have overall corporate responsibility for developing and recommending initiatives to address key governmental health care policy issues. He will work closely with corporate staff and the pharmaceutical, nutritional and medical device operating groups to identify, analyze and execute strategies in the managed care arena.
 "Ray brings to this new position a strong knowledge of the health care industry and the complex economic, political and social factors which will have an impact upon the industry and our customers," said Mr. Heimbold.
 Mr. Egan joined Bristol Laboratories, a division of Bristol-Myers Squibb, in 1968. Since then, he has progressed through various positions of increasing responsibility within the company's pharmaceutical and nutritional businesses.
 Mr. Egan received his B.A. degree from Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., and his M.B.A. degree from Syracuse University.
