BRILLIANT Burnley turned their big-time return into one of the greatest nights in the club's history as they beat Manchester United.

Robbie Blake Robert James "Robbie" Blake (born March 4 1976 in Middlesbrough, England) is an English footballer, currently playing for Burnley F.C in the English Football League Championship as a striker.

"It's a bad blow and everyone will say we take our time getting going, but nonetheless we shouldn't be losing games like these. Blake's goal was a fantastic hit. It was a big night for Burnley, they got their victory through a 10-minute period, they played very well."

Blake was only two months old when Burnley were relegated 33 years ago - but the club's long wait for a top-flight goal seemed worth every second. Blake was grateful to Jensen after his mistimed tackle brought down Evra before half-time. The keeper read Michael Carrick's spot-kick perfectly and added to his legendary status with a fine save.

Burnley manager Owen Coyle said: "Nobody outside this football club gave us a chance. Most people thought we would have zero points from the first five games.

"But it was a magnificent win, we worked so hard. We are delighted."
