BRIGHTON INFORMATION SYSTEMS CORP. (CHINA) ANNOUNCES JOINT VENTURE
 PARAMUS, N.J., Oct. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Brighton, one of the largest computer systems integration company in China, has been designated to be the managing partner to install an On Line Transaction Processing (OLTP) network which will automate China's credit card clearing system. Brighton thus far has been able to select and qualify the following organizations to join the team as the working partnership:
 -- Cincinnati Bell Information Systems-International (NYSE: CSN), a regional telephone company in the United States;
 -- Pyramid Technology Corp. (NASDAQ: PYRD), a Unix-based mainframe class hardware manufacturer which supplies credit card companies such as AT&T Universal Card and JCB of Japan.
 -- Shared Financial Systems. Partially owned by Olivetti of Italy, it is the second-largest computer manufacturer in Europe. Shared Financial Systems manufactures the OLTP software which supports three out of four worldwide credit card operations, namely American Express, Visa and MasterCard; and
 -- Standard Chartered Bank of Hong Kong. Controlling approximately 15 percent of the banking market in Hong Kong, Standard Chartered Bank ranks as the second largest British bank operated in Hong Kong.
 Brighton has been designated as the managing partner for this project (Brighton Telecommunication Systems) and is responsible for all business-related aspects of the project. The four working partners will be responsible for their portions of the technical and operational aspects of the project. Specifically, Cincinnati Bell for telecommunications, Pyramid Technology Corp. for computer network design and implementation, Shared Financial Systems for OLTP network design and implementation and Standard Chartered Bank (HK) for the credit card operational experience.
 Brighton Information Systems Corp. ("BISC"), through its joint venture company, Brighton Telecommunication Systems, recently signed a letter of intent with the Telecommunications and Banking Industry in Guangzhou City, China, to establish the first OLTP network (in cooperation with local officials) within the next six to 12 months. Upon its successful completion, Brighton Telecommunication Systems plans to duplicate the network in 130 cities throughout China.
 Brighton feels it has placed itself in the perfect position to expand its market share and profitability in Asia. After more than a decade of toil in that area of the world, Brighton is looking forward to achieving its goal of becoming one of the leading systems integration companies in that region.
