Police identify victim

in bicycle accident

SPRINGFIELD - The 10-year-old boy critically injured when he was hit by a car while riding his bicycle across Main Street on Friday has been identified as Daniel Duffy.

He remains in critical condition at Oregon Health & Sciences University and had not regained consciousness as of Saturday evening, Springfield police Sgt. Tom Rappe said. He was not wearing a helmet and suffered serious internal and head injuries, Rappe said.

Drugs and alcohol did not play a role in the accident. Baker was traveling near the 45 mph speed limit, Rappe said. No charges have been filed.

Police look for suspect

in hit-and-run crash

COTTAGE GROVE Cottage Grove, village (1990 pop. 22,935), Washington co., SE Minn., near the St. Croix River; inc. 1965. There is farming (cattle, sheep, corn, and soybeans) and manufacturing (chemicals and machinery).  - Lane County sheriff's deputies late Saturday were trying to track down a 25-year-old man they believe is responsible for a hit-and-run crash Friday that injured a Bend resident.

Police believe Jesse Carl Razoto of Cottage Grove was behind the wheel of a 1994 Jeep Cherokee that struck 53-year-old Michael James of Bend at about 7:45 p.m. Friday in the parking lot of Lakeside Park off London Road, sheriff's officials said.

James was injured in the collision and was taken by ambulance to Cottage Grove Community Hospital. A hospital spokeswoman on Saturday would not say whether James remained hospitalized.

Razoto is wanted by police for failing to appear in court on a criminal mischief charge.
