VAN NUYS -- One man was killed and another injured in two separate gang-related shootings Tuesday, authorities said.

Actor gets jail for punching cop

One of the stars of MTV's "The Hills" reality show was sentenced Tuesday today to 60 days in the county jail and 36 months probation after pleading no contest to misdemeanor battery charges stemming from an attack on a Department of Transportation officer and a tow truck operator.

Jason Wahler, 20, who formerly starred on the network's "Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County," and a female companion, model Kristen DeLuca, were traveling with a group of friends along Wilshire Boulevard when their vehicle was blocked by a DOT vehicle and a tow truck attempting to move an illegally parked car.

The couple confronted the officer, who is black, and two tow truck operators -- one of them black, the other Latino -- and began hurling racial epithets at them, according to the City Attorney's Office. Wahler then punched the officer and the black tow truck operator.
