PACOIMA -- Detectives suspect foul play in the death of a 25-year-old woman who was found dead in her bedroom, authorities said Friday.

Janet Martinez was discovered Thursday inside her home in the 10500 block of Telfair Avenue. Her parents had reported her missing Tuesday when she failed to pick up her two children from a baby sitter's home.

The cause of death has not yet been determined. Homicide detectives are seeking her husband, Francisco Moncadaleon, 29, as a person of interest.

The 5-foot-7-inch, 210-pound Mexican national also known as Francisco Moncada, Edgar Avila Zamora and Francisco Julian Mocada Leon has not been seen for several days, and police fear for his well-being.

The Animal Cruelty Task Force served a search warrant Tuesday at the home of Lawrence ``Larry'' Rothfork in the 6100 block of Riverton Avenue and found the poisons and five handguns, including a semiautomatic handgun, which were confiscated con·fis·cate

Rothfork had been involved in a dispute with the neighbor about her dog, a boxer named Indo, and its alleged barking for years.

Mayor nominates Sisson for CAO

Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa nominated Karen Sisson on Friday as the city's new administrative officer.

Sisson, who has been acting as interim CAO after the retirement of Bill Fujioka, would be the first woman to hold the job in city history.

Her salary has yet to be set and her appointment is subject to City Council approval. She holds an MBA MBA

Officials ID teen slain in Valley

Police have identified the 17-year-old shot to death in North Hills this week as Daniel Martinez.

Martinez was shot about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 15500 block of Nordhoff Street after two teens drove up to him and they exchanged words, police said.

Martinez, who lived in Van Nuys, died a short time later at a nearby hospital.

The shooting was gang-related, police said. Anyone with information can call LAPD 1. LAPD - Link Access Procedure on the D channel.
