Man sold bogus coverage to firm

A Van Nuys man has pleaded guilty to selling bogus liability insurance to Prime Time Shuttle, which unknowingly ferried passengers to and from local airports without coverage for more than two years, officials said Thursday.

Gurjeet Singh, also known as George Singh, pleaded guilty Wednesday to two federal counts of mail fraud. He faces up to 40 years in prison when he is sentenced on April 23.

Younger Waxman opposing dad?

Michael Waxman, son of U.S. Rep. Henry Waxman Henry Arnold Waxman (born September 12, 1939 in Los Angeles, California) is an American politician. He has represented California's At-large congressional district (map) in the U.S. House of Representatives since 1975. , is taking a job in Washington.

The younger Waxman is set to become vice president of Hyde Park Communications, a consulting firm that counts pharmaceutical companies Hoffmann-LaRoche, Pfizer and Bristol-Myers Squibb among its clients.

The elder Waxman, who recently assumed the reins of the House Government Reform Committee, has spent decades fighting the industry on improving drug-safety enforcement and the availability of generic drugs. He has vowed to continue pushing those efforts as chairman.
