Witnesses sought in SCV car crash

VALENCIA - Sheriff's deputies were seeking witnesses Thursday to a single-car crash that sent the driver to the hospital and left trees along a landscaped median damaged.

Brandon Douglas West, 29, was speeding on Wiley Canyon Road near Avenida Cappella about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday when he lost control of his 2005 black Nissan Titan pickup truck, according to a sheriff's report.

West crossed over the center median, hit several trees and came to rest on the eastbound side of Wiley, according to the report. He suffered serious injuries.

A preliminary blood test indicated West might have been drinking, according to the report.

Investigators were looking for witnesses who saw the crash or who might have seen West driving erratically before he crashed. Anyone with information is asked to call Deputy Anthony Arnold at (661) 799-5112.
