Half-price Hult tickets go on sale for two concerts

Half-price tickets are on sale today only at the Hult Center box office for a Eugene Concert Choir Eugene Concert Choir is a non-profit choral organization based in Eugene, Oregon, United States. It consists of two mixed-voice choruses: the 100-member Eugene Concert Choir (ECC), and the semi-professional chamber group Eugene Vocal Arts Ensemble (EVAE).  concert in April and to the Eugene Symphony's season finale in May.

The half-price tickets can be bought on the Web at www.HultCenter.org (use the password "lily"); at the box office in the Hult lobby; or by calling 682-5000.

The Eugene Concert Choir will present "Grant Us Peace - Dona Nobis Pacem Dona nobis pacem (Latin: Give us peace) is a phrase in the Agnus Dei section of the Roman Catholic mass. It was set as a separate, final movement in Bach's Mass in B Minor. " Saturday, April 22, at 8 p.m. in the Hult's Silva Concert Hall. Regular price tickets are $15 to $28.

The Eugene Symphony season finale is titled "Raise the Roof" and will feature works by Michael Daugherty. The concert is May 18 at 8 p.m. in the Silva; regular price tickets are $26 to $38.

City Club sets program

Author Jane Kirkpatrick will be the featured speaker at a benefit dinner for the Kellenberger Library at Northwest Christian College Northwest Christian College is a private, liberal arts college located in Eugene, Oregon and is affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the Independent Christian Churches/Churches of Christ. .

The banquet will be held Friday in NCC's Burke-Griffeth banquet room. The event begins at 6 p.m., and Kirkpatrick will speak at 7:45 p.m. in the Evans Chapel. The talk will be followed by a book signing in the chapel foyer.

The event is open to the public, but reservations for the dinner have closed. The cost to hear Kirkpatrick is $3 at the door.

Kirkpatrick, a resident of Eastern Oregon, is the author of 14 books, including the 1995 novel "A Sweetness to the Soul" and "A Land of Sheltered Promise."

Florence church group will hold fish fry

St. Mary Our Lady of the Dunes Catholic Church men's club will hold a fish fry Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Parish Center, 85060 Highway 101, Florence.

The menu will include clam chowder chowder, stew of fish or shellfish with potatoes, onions, and pork (usually salt pork), thickened with crumbled hard bread. Greenacres Grange will hold a fundraising flea market on Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
